Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest and sole daughter born to Richard McCormick, in 1956 - was born at Woodland Hills (California) on 5 August. Her mother was also a housekeeper. Michael, Dennis, and Kevin are her three oldest brothers. McCormick began performing and singing from an early age. Also, she performed for children in the neighborhood. At the age of six, she was crowned the winner of the contest dubbed Baby Miss San Fernando Valley. The Jack Wormser Agency then contacted her and asked whether she'd like to go into the show business. McCormick got her first big breakthrough in 1964. She starred in the commercial on television for Mattel's "Baby Pattaburp," that was the latest Mattel doll. A year later, McCormick appeared in a commercial for"Chatty Catherine," Mattel's newest doll "Chatty Catherine" doll. She was chosen to play the show"Wind It up and It Breaks. McCormick was a candidate for the role in the TV show "The Brady Bunch.' She got selected out of over 200 other kids to play the older of the twins on the TV show The Brady Bunch. Florence Henderson starred as the newlyweds as well as Robert Reed, the blended family. The show lasted for five seasons. McCormick in her autobiography Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice published in 2008 disclosed that during the 5th season of her show, McCormick almost lost her relationship with her brother Barry Williams. The actress was 16 years older and the actor 19 at the time. It would have been possible, she says. "But the timing for us was never just right."
