
Jennifer always longed to be multi-tasking star. Growing up she indulged in a wide range of musical genres, mainly Afro-Caribbean rhythms like salsa, merengue, bachata and merengue, as well as mainstream music like pop hip-hop, R&B. Music was her passion, but she was also fascinated by the movie industry. West Side Story, a musical by Rita Moreno (1961), was her most significant source of inspiration. At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Jennifer was also an entertainer as well as a Catholic schoolgirl, attended 8 years at Holy Family Catholic Elementary School in The Bronx. After a 4 year period and graduation, she attended Preston High School, an all-girls preparatory school. While at school, Jennifer was an amazing athlete and participated in track and field and tennis. Her entire life was upbringing in a two-story house within the Castle Hill neighborhood. As a teenager, Jennifer moved out of the house of her parents. Lopez began working at the law office, while also dancing during the night.
